Fabio
Mariani is born in Rome in 1962.
Guitarist and Composer of national fame he has begun in 1984 with
the TRATTATO DI CHITARRA JAZZ (Manual
Of Jazz Guitar) a didactic Best Seller of the modern
didactics.
From 1998 it is printed by Warner Italia.
From the 84 to today Fabio has printed over 500 essays on
specialized magazines. He has made workshops and lectures
anywhere in Italy and in USA.
He was the first Italian musician has been invited to the
Musicians Institute in Hollywood in 1990. He made concerts and
lectures in Hollywood, Chicago, Milwaukee, New York.
Guest of the American newscast of the CBS CBS NEWS.
Within the pop scene he has collaborated with Pino
Daniele, Claudio Baglioni, Teresa De Sio, Mimmo Locasciulli, Ivan
Graziani, Bruno Martino, Gigi Proietti and many others.
As Band Leader has printed 4 CD with his name and others 14 as
collaborations.
He has published in 1996 a Didactic Video La chitarra"
(the guitar) for the Playgame. He has participated in the
realization of other 3 Didactic Videos of Massimo Moriconi. In
1991 He has founded the "University of the Music". He
has developed from 1991 to 1993 the role of Didactic Manager and
Manager of the Faculty of Guitar. In 1993 he leaves the UM for a
series of personal appointments. Great expert of Computer
science, in USA he comes into contact with Internet.
It is thanks to him if a lot of Italian musical realities
immediately are visible from on the net. In 1998 has founded the
Web Music Company Spa, the first Italian society able to
distribute digital music through a sure and certified system:
LIQUID AUDIO.
Fabio brings in Italy the exclusive national of the use of this
innovative software. On the wave of this adventure it pushes
since that time the SIAE (Itaian music rights society) and its
President, Luciano Bideri, to take action of the new reality and
proxy so the FIRST LICENSE IN EUROPE ON THE ONLINE COPYRIGHT.
Fabio (Deputy President of the WMC) signs, together with Peter
Hobart (President WMC) and with the SIAE President Luciano
Bideri, that license January 18 th 1999.
In 1999 he purchases the school Saint Louis in Rome, historical
local reality. he restructures it, giving also a new image
besides a new direction up to the moment that the UM needs him
again. He leaves the Saint Louis and returns so inside the UM,
purchasing the packet of absolute majority in 2000 and since then
it has renewed the environments, the organization chart, the
didactics, the modus operands, the image. He has opened and
exploited the open spaces, cabled the whole building in optical
fibers , created a net of over 40 terminals, opened Departments
and Divisions that interact among them. The New UM.
In 2003 he founded the UM Records and has published his new work NADI
with the Fabio Mariani Group and with guests Jeff
Berlin and Danny Gottlieb.
It also produces the new CD of Pino Iodice and the debut CD of
Cinzia Tedesco, always for the UM Records.
Fabio Mariani Group is composed by Stefano Sastro (keyboards),
Claudio Zanghieri (Bass), Giovanni Di Caprio (guitar), Raul
Scebba (percussions) and Maurice Dei LAzzaretti (drums).
