DIEGO ORIGLIA Quartet (ITA/FRA) |

Diego Origlia
(Cuneo, 1970)
Move the first steps in the world of professional music in
Genova, under the direction of Beppe Gambetta.
After a strong experience with the group of traditional Occitan
music "LOU DALFIN" and the publication of the CD
"W JAN D'L'EIRETTO" (1992), he move to New York where
he spend two years working as a waiter in italians restaurants,
playing all over around and living the multiethnic culture of the
Big Apple. After a trimester at the "American Institute of
Guitar", he participate at workshops with Joe Diorio, Jim
Hall, Mick Goodrick, Mike Stern.
In '96 he spend one year in Buenos Aires (Argentina), where he
study the classical guitar and the Latin-American repertoir with
Esteban Morgado and get in touch with the "nuevo continente
latino".
Back in Europe, he try to fix the images of these travelling
years producing his first album "DOLCEAMARGO" (1999)
and he present it at the Nice Jazz Festival (Cimiez) among the
FNAC selections.
After a stay of one year in Saorge, medieval village on the
borderline between Italy and France, he settle down in Nice and
produce the second album, "D'AUTRES AMORES" (2001),
"...an attempt of criticism looking for a bit of hope in a
society hard to stand, but that we live in and it's better to try
to assume..."
Always committed to the instruction, he develop a work based on
rhythm and psychomotricity in different therapeutic centers
heeding the psychiatric diseases.
Author and composer coming from the popular tradition and
affiliated at the italian SIAE, plays the guitars, some flutes, a
bit of piano, the percussions, he sings and dances... he speaks
italian, french, spanish and english ; he lives in Nice (France)
with the statute of indipendent artist and he cooperate with
"La Maioun dou BeBop" of Maestro Jean Luc Danna.
Diego truly believes in the social role and not just the
aesthetics of music and art in general and feel a personal
responsability for the free circulation of ideas, the equal
distribution of the material wealth and the share of
philosophical and spiritual values.

Diego Origlia - solo
A musical journey that blend the mediterranean tradition with the
jazz and the latin-american music. Diego, troubadour, tells his
crossing with his own compositions and a "extraits" of
the musics that inspired him. The classical guitar comp the
voice, take often the first role and incorporate differents
techniques constantly looking for a personal sound and identity.
